I have the SAS controller mentioned in the title connected to two Hitachi 15K SAS drives in RAID 0. My system works fine except for one irritating problem. When I start it up I get an error message from the SAS controller saying that the RAID is disabled. When I check the drive status one of them is not recognized (one one instance it did not recognize both). All I do is after seeing this message is a Ctrl+Alt+Delete and the system then recognizes the array and boots fine. Can anyone give me an idea as to what may be causing this. I have been looking for bios updates for the controller but Version1.3 which i have is the latest. I'll also forward this to Highpoint's tech support but will be grateful if anyone can offer a fix. Thanks guys.

Can also look for a firmware update for the drives. Rare, but I always check.

I have already checked for firmware updates but did not find anything.
Been doing some searching on the issue and have discovered this thing call staggered-spinup. I'm thinking that may be the issue but it seems that this feature is not working in the Highpoint controller (Bios update needed). Anyways I little time as I am in the middle of pharmacy exams. will check back here occasionally.
