lol, looks like jimmy went back and corrected it. says 480 unified now. oh and look it has the same memory error as the one from overclock.net

- Christine

I believe that if you look about 3 posts up in this thread, you will see that GPU-Z 0.2.4 reports it as 800SPs, GPU-Z 0.2.3 reports 480SPs.

I would believe the latest version as it's the one closest to release. Any evidence for 480SP with the latest version?

amazon products are posted by a amazon sellers, so you're saying that joe blow is more repudable than a regular site. think of amazon as a beefed up ebay. the "powersellers" have to pay a monthly fee to be able to list new products. other than that, they're regular sellers just like you'd find on ebay. I sell on amazon all the time and I could list a product and put whatever the hell sp's I wanted to on it.

So who's the liar, GPU-Z (made by w1z) or Amazon?

Considering that W1zzard already has a 4850 card:

gpuz bug i guess .. my 48xx should arrive tomorrow so new release soon

This was posted in this topic (post #33): look @ the date it was posted on.

I would definitely say Amazon!

Right, ofc.

He has this card now (that's what he led me to believe with that post, anyway) and he's the creator of GPU-Z. If his prog says 800, who am i to doubt it?

EDIT

I miss wrote what i wanted to say in my previous post, lol :slap:

EDIT #2

I've corrected it now!

I guess untill we have official confimation directly from ATi, we just don't know and isn't worth arguing about.

Agreed, but from seeing the 480 in GPU-Z screenies make that more believable than some random chart.

Yes it does, yet ATi still has to confirm it. What about the talk that the shader clocks were separate?

LIES, I mean like you said about the SP's only certainty is wait for an official announcement from ATI, most of the cards being tested now are probably engineering samples so probably don't have the same specs as the retail ones do.

Who knows with the 800 vs 480 junk. As long as its 160 * [whatever] its all good. The 3870 was 64 * 5 so it just makes sense for the 4870 to be 160 * 5.

Looks at graph 40 TMUs :wtf:??? If the 4850 has both 800SP (which I believe) and 40TMUs (which I didn't know about) it should perform much higher then what we are seeing now. Unless the 4850 is different from the 4870. Time will tell. Awaiting review.

I'm going with the most optimistic vote for 800sp's and 40tmu's I mean the r700 architecture has been indevelopment for quite a while.

LOL you guys kill me. I'm for real , ask W1zzard he has been online with me . I "loaned" him the card to get the dumps for GPU-Z 0.2.4. he will assure you the card is real. the old one would show 480 the corrected one shows the proper 800. It would be pretty tuff to fake registry dumps he is taking himself.

and yes I'm just a welder by day from a small town in Indiana. not a pro hardware guy , I do run a phase cooled quadfire rig at 4+ ghz daily and have previously held the 3850 wr.s on hwbot. I know my way around cards some.I had really no time before getting the card and posting the first part.I only rec'd the card thur. by monday morning the performance is known, the shaders confirmed, lots of rumors put to rest and I even sucsessfully v-modded it to take advantage of the obviously knee-capped performance of the card. heck 25.5k single card at only 700mhz in vista no less. that's pretty good for a 200 dollar card IMO.

I know my way around cards some.I had really no time before getting the card and posting the first part.I only rec'd the card thur. by monday morning the performance is known, the shaders confirmed, lots of rumors put to rest and I even sucsessfully v-modded it to take advantage of the obviously knee-capped performance of the card. heck 25.5k single card at only 700mhz in vista no less. that's pretty good for a 200 dollar card IMO.

damn it, the anxiety is killin meh!!

looks pretty promising, TBH :toast:
