To tell the truth, this is the first saint's row I've had an interest in, but I plan on getting it pretty soon.

Not looked at this series at all but looking at your screenies GTA IV was the first thing that crossed my mind. Is it in that kinda style? Heck a couple of those driving shots looked exactly like Liberty City.

You should go read some reviews and watch some of the promo trailers for it.

Ill never get a chance to play it, but I really would like to pick this game up. Its only $39.99 on Amazon, but knowing my luck it will drop in price a day after I buy it

Does it support the Xbox360 controller on PC?

Had some extra Amazon gift cards, so I bought the game. Key activated on STEAM without issues too :D Hopefully I wont see it anywhere else cheaper tomorrow, but I hate dealing with the Black Friday crowds anyway.

I just beat it 100% on Hardcore...

The Good (compared to SR2):
-Performance is much improved and the addition of VTOL aircraft help expedite getting around town.
-TANKS! Need I say more?
-The main plot took a lot of twist and turns I didn't expect. I won't spoil anything.
-They added brutes which are enemies that can't be dealt with in the routine fashion. They take a ton of bullets to drop and they do a lot of damage back.
-Meaningful weapon upgrades and a large variety of weapons to choose from.
-Characters are still fully customizable.
-There's a lot of things I can't mention here that stood out as awesomesauce but I won't mention them here for spoiler sake.

The Meh (compared to SR2):
-No option to turn off auto-aim. I noticed it a few times where the cursor followed an enemy that wasn't motion of my own. It isn't overly annoying nor does it give the impression of cheating.
-There's a lot of things that need patching. For example, AMBULANCE on the front of ambulances is backwards. I also experienced 3-4 crashes to desktop.
-There aren't many incredible songs with the game. Only a few I've ever heard before.

The Bad (compared to SR2):
-No mouse flight on aircraft? WTF!?!
-If you buy all the player upgrades, your are invincible to everything except melee attacks, never reload your weapons, and have infinite ammunition. Makes it a little too easy, yeah? You don't get access until late in the game but still, I'd want some challenge.
-With a few exceptions, the game was pretty damn easy on the hardest difficulty: hardcore.
-No multiplayer mode except Co-Op.
-It didn't have any OMG moments like SR2. I remember two incidents in SR2 that are completely unforgettable--both in the Brotherhood missions. I won't say more than that here for those that haven't played it.
---Even though it took longer to beat SR3 than SR2, for some reason, I get the feeling that there really isn't as much content there. For example, there didn't seem to be as many nor as much variety in the "activities" (e.g. putting out fires in a fire truck, stopping perps with a police car, reviving people with the ambulance, film police killing civilians for a reality show, etc.). So why did SR3 take longer to beat than SR2? I don't honestly know.

It is definitely the son of Saints Row. It has that trademark do whatever-the-fuck-you-want attitude and makes no apologies for it. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give it an 8. 1 point docked for activities mentioned above, and 1 point for no multiplayer beyond Co-Op. It's a great game overall but has limited replayability.

I do believe it does support an xbox controller.
I can confirm this. There's an option in there for setting up a gamepad.

-There's a lot of things that need patching. For example, AMBULANCE on the front of ambulances is backwards.

Its backwards here, too. Because then you can read in it your rear view mirror. Same with police cars. If its that kind of backwards you mean.

I may get SR today. I've been debating wether or not to get it, as some of the trailers were so over the top ridiculous it seems even too ridiculous. The airplane/skydiving bit for example, as a skidiver myself it made me cringe.

On the other side I enjoy the concept of "do whatever you damn well please", I put tons of hours in the GTA franchise as well as in Just Cause 2 (such an underrated game it seems).

So yeah I most probably get it. For PS3. I kinda enjoy this sort of genre on consoles more, its a personal preference don't start with PC vs. consoles. Also not for th 360 based on comparisons between PS3 and 360. I mainly use my 360 for exclusive titles or ones that are significantly better than on PS3.

So the PC version is actually good? Saint's row 2 sucked balls on PC.. Although i loved it on the PS3.

It's not as "over the top ridiculous" as the trailers made it out to be. You don't have to use the stuff they show you (like the 3' dildo bat).

I don't see whats so spoiled here, thats like saying "way to spoil that this game has big head mode". It's just a funny character, not like anyones going to beat the game just to play as this toilet anyways, it will just be purely for laughs.

so don't do it intentionally. it's your own decision whether you even click the link or not, and no one to be upset with but yourself. if you get upset about that stuff, don't even read the thread right?

The title is the spoiler: "How to play Saints Row 3 as a toilet"

Without seeing this thread and without beating the game yourself, you'd never have known that.

ok fair enough, but you can play as a zombie and use a dildo as a weapon, i own saints row and was not surprised in the least to read the title, least of all did it spoil anything.

however, each their own - i get your point.

Qubit you should maybe put the words spoiler warning or something in the OP.
Im not watching it because i dont want it spoilt. No hard feelings its only semi spoilt, like a day out of date milk.
