So after Failure of my last SSD i decided to choose 840 EVO 500GB , Any Recommendations or thoughts about its current state
Crucial MX100 is far better value for capacity/performance/price
I'd rather have the MX100 500GB than my Samsung EVO 256GB. They cost about the same.

No issues whatsoever 9+ months with my 256gb Evo. The prices have dropped considerably in the last 2 years, so a 500gb is a good buy.

For me it has more to do with availability then anything , i would go for 840 pro if it was available but its not plus couple of extra milliseconds dont bother me

I would get one although i would pay the extra 20-30$ and get 2 256GB ones as after the warranty and you still use it one failing on you would not mean losing it all.
