Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a world-leading manufacturer of professional LCD and PDP display products, today introduced its latest 17- and 19-inch LCD monitors, the SyncMaster 740BX and the SyncMaster 940BX. Targeted at government, corporate and SMB markets, both monitors feature a notable 1000:1 contrast ratio, a quick 5ms response time, 1280x1024 resolution, 170-degree horizontal viewing angle, analog and DVI interface, as well as Samsung's proprietary Magic Technologies: MagicBrightII, MagicColor and MagicTune.

    • MagicBrightII: Automatically optimizes brightness and contrast based on the specific application with the push of a button. Features Text, Internet, Sports, Movie, Game and Custom modes.
    • MagicColor: Enhances color in two modes: Full (overall enhancement) and Intelligent (enhances color without affecting delicate skin tones).
    • MagicTune: An easy-to-use on-screen interface that allows users to use their mouse to control all their Magic Technology picture adjustments from one place.
"Priced at $249.99 MSRP for the 740BX and $309.99 MSRP for the 940BX the new monitors are highly competitive for the commercial market", said Andrew Weis, product marketing manager, display products, Samsung Electronics America, Inc.

"The 740BX and 940BX give Samsung's channel partners the ability to offer excellent specifications at competitive prices, making them a very appealing choice for commercial customers," Weis said.

In addition to the advanced display characteristics, both the 740BX and the 940BX have a height adjustable stand that pivots and swivels, as well as an ultra-thin bezel, which gives users the ability to tile the monitors side-by-side for increased productivity.

The 740BX and the 940BX will be available at the end of July through Samsung resellers and distribution channels.

Prices aren't bad and I hear Samsung are good? The only thing I ever bought from them was a TV and that was terrible, had to send it back.

No, dvi-d is a digital interface which controls your color temp and adjustment automatically...in most cases it has nothing to do with the better picture quality. You won't notice the difference at least in low-mid-high range monitors.

out of curiosity then, how many should it have? also, how many does yours have and do you like? i'm looking to buy an LCD soon, been checking out ViewSonic VX922 2ms, got good reviews at Tom's Hardware.
