    HDD For OS & Programs:
    SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ 1TB
    OR
    Western Digital 750GB WD7502AAEX

Which drive will be faster for OS and programs. Isn't the WD Blacks the fastest HDD (not SSD) for OS and programs? This benchmarks -->http://www.harddrivebenchmark.net/hdd.php?hdd=WDC WD7502AAEX shows that the Samsung is faster. But why is the WD Blacks so much more expensive if it is about 100 points slower?

    Thanks

64Mb cache in the WD makes them faster and dearer the F3 i believe has more platters so is allmost as quick in some scenarios just afaik that though from reviews

Does 64mb cache drastically change the speediness for an OS & programs compared to a 32mb cache?

Definitely get the Samsung F3. I have bought 5 of them and love them...fast, quiet, reliable.

I also had that Western Digital drive for a short while before I sold it. It vibrated my whole case and desk even though it was mounted with anti-vibration pads.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I guess I will use the F3 for the OS then.

    Greatly appreciated :)
