Sapphire 5850 VaporX v 5850 Toxic

Hi people,

So I just got my PC I had custom built for me, now I originally ordered a "Sapphire VaporX 2GB model. When I received the product today it was actually a Sapphire Toxic 5850, still with the VaporX tech apparently (according to the box) it does say it has a higher clock speed than the VaporX and I assume it is better, but can anyone confirm please?

Yup, the Toxic model is the "superclocked" version of the VaporX with the same cooler.

buy reference - they have voltage control and are silent + cheaper

you can OC a reference wayyyy higher than a toxic AFAIK

Agreed, do not spend the money on non-reference cards, yes they have the cool looking coolers, but they are harder to get voltage control working on, the factory cooler with bumped fan speed is enough to blow right past the non-reference cards, and you save some money too!
