Sapphire HD 6950 2GB Flex Edition unlock

My HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 is faulty and Sapphire is offering a 6950 2GB Flex edition (http://www.sapphiretech.com/present...d=1&gid=3&sgid=1041&pid=1099&psn=&lid=1&leg=0) for replacement. I've read a lot about 6950 unlock to 6970 but for this particular card there are controversal claims online. Does anyone have this card and is willing to share some experiences with unlocking it?

It's worth it even if it doesn't unlock. People don't seem to understand the shader unlock doesn't make a big difference in performance. The biggest difference is in the core clock OC's. I know from lots of experience with these, and many reviews proving this.
