I'm geting artifacts after flashing BIOS on my Sapphire X800 XT PE (AGP). I used Flashrom 2.40 to flash it with Sapphire.X800XT.256.Samsung16_040719.bin file. I didn't make a backup of the original (I had this BIOS before "Jun 24th 2004 10:02 PM"). I downloaded the Sapphire.X800XT.256.Samsung16.040624.bin file and it doesn't work with it (I still have artifacts). How can I fix it?

    It isn't OC.

I assume that is at stock speeds ... can I ask why you flashed a PE with a XT BIOS? If you are at stock speeds on the VGA card and system, I would flash it with latest Sapphire BIOS and if it still has issues then RMA it ...

is the "Sapphire.X800XT.256.Samsung16_040719.bin" file (in the file name PE is not mentioned).

    I didn't flash to XT.

I didn't see PE so I thought ... do you just have the stock cooler? Try touching the Ram on the back side which are easy to get to... if any are to hot to touch then you need to RMA the card ... does your case have good cooling?

If any are to hot to hold your finger on for more than 10 seconds and it's running at stock speeds than I would presume you have a bad mem chip and you should RMA ... one last try would be to put it in another system to test, if the symptoms follow with the card ... without a doubt RMA it ...

Sharp looking case by the way ... :)

Just have to ask, what does it mean to RMA something?

Return Merchandise Authorization ... it's a number you get to replace your merchandise from the ventor you purchased it from ... To RMA means send that puppy back in for replacement ..
