i have a 3.5 hdd case that can take both ide and sata, and i currently use a sata hdd on it with sata power, but i got to use for a couple hours a sata laptop hdd in it, is the sata power cable, and sata cable compatible with it? (it fits there) but i'm worried that the sata voltage could be higher
    thanks

Don't worry about it, the voltages are the same. I've removed a few laptop sata HD's to clone to HD's in my desktop before removing Vista and installing XP (they were from work so for warranty purposes I had to make sure I had all the factory installed software and settings saved).

i need to get to it 'cause it got one of those new virus (worm) that edits something in system32 making your pc log out as soon as you log in, wich pretty much fucks you up big time
