I've made a custom power cable for my HDDs in a similar way. while i can't give you a detailed guide on how to do it, i can tell you what you need. you'll need right-angle SATA power cable connectors. the black plastic rectangle on top comes off and you can push down your (correctly aligned) cable into the groove where it joins with the pins. you can Google the correct pin/cable orientation and colour so you don't fry your devices. similar to that picture the cable i made was modular that could be connected directly into my PSU. unlike the picture, i didn't sleeve my cables which would take a longer time if you do it carefully.
