ive read this article a few times before.

the baseplate is seperate from the heatsink, and mounts straight to the pcb which cools the vrms passively. independent of core temp/cooling.

tintai how much of an indentation does the vrms leave on the thermal pads?

    Hi

Did the flicker go away when the vga card hit 58c ?

Edit: bug in Catalyst 13.6 Beta with dual monitors and or dual vga cables to single monitor [may also be in other versions of ccc have not had time to test]
Flickering on bottom of second screen while using dual monitors and IE or single monitor with dual cable
    *Maybe this
Open: AMD Catalyst Control Center in Advanced View
    Select: Performance
    Select: Activate
    Select: AMD Overdrive;
Navigate to: Enable Graphics Overdrive [untick box]
    Close CCC
    Restart system

    tbh i doubt it.

the flickering is probably a degraded ram chip, which at X temp causes some kind of electric fuck up.

the vrms are more than likely playing havoc at those temps causing hideous power to the components.

i bet its on a slippery slope to death, most cards soon as they start failing carry on till death

    sorry!

No driver is going to fix that problem. These cards seem to have a pretty high failure rate.

    d1nky says thanks.

Unfortunately... But now I have flickering once per hour and much lower. It's much better. Before was once per 10 minutes. I it's looks like this pads fix this in little part.
