Server case and some more stuff

    hi i need some help, im looking for a low profile case that fits for a Intel S5000PSL Xeon Server board

    also what type of psu do i need to run this board?
    im also looking for low profile gpu that is good enough for source engine
    and what program is best for remote controll?
    what os sould i use for a server? windows or linux?
    sould be enabled to run steam and svn and a source server
    and a minium amount of system resources

    The only requirement for the case is mounting holes for the CPU coolers, supermicro has brackets for this though. They might not fit the Intel board though, in that case you can glue them to whatever cheap case. You can use any EPS PSU. Many boards will work fine with any standard PSU as well (4pin connector goes in the 8 pin socket, not in the 4 pin one), not all though.

    For Windows use RDP. Use Windows as you want to use Steam. Why exactly does it need to be low profile?

    cus i dont want to use a big ass case,

    but does the mainboard i want to use fit in there? or would i need to mod it?

    and whats a drp?

    When you say low profile I have a 1-2U rack case in mind for these boards. They're not that small at all.

    What's wrong with a cheap ATX case, they usually fit eATX just fine.


    Edit: You want something like that? Have you any idea how large that is?

    Edit2: Drp is short for derp I would guess.

    what atx case would be small enough and atleast fit 2/3 hardisk in it. no need for cdrom player

    Most of them have space for several disks. Just get a standard sized case, the board itself takes up a fair amount of space.

    cant realy find a small atx case that supports eatx
    max size for case is 38cm x 75cm x 8cm
