    Please Help,

I am working on a laptop here at the office for a co worker, and I cannot load the network settings and the USB doesnt work. Other problems might be there but those are the only ones I have noticed at first glance

When I rest on the Network icon in the taskbar (VISTA) it says Server Execution Failed.

I have tried a system restore and I have restarted all services I could find that are remotely related to this. After googlin the issue I have found it to be tied in with AIM on Vista, among other things.

Has anyone seen this or found a solution that doesnt require a reimage?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! THANKS!

Have you tried adding Administrator to Local Users & Group. This has fixed some people's problem with "Server Execution Failed",but I think they were also getting a warning in event viewer - the error 7023 "The Network List Service service
terminated with the following error: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service."

    Fix taken from here -

Thanks, nice one -everyone is happy now, glad you got the problems sorted.

I personally like Vista but it can be a bi*@h at times.

EDIT:One question -where you trying to connect to a new network when this problem started or was it out of the blue?

well i dont know, it was a field superintendents computer. And it started doing it right after AIM was installed. funny eh?

So right now I am re installing aim to see if the problem comes back up again. From all the reading I have done here it looks like a problem with certain programs just disabling something. Really weird

After a reinstall of aim and a restart everything still works fine, but I have heard its from a Viewpoint program that AIM trys to install with AIM.
