I just got my QX9650, finally got 4.0 ghz stable with linpack, but it takes 1.392v idle because of my high vdroop. This seems awfully close to the max voltage for early 45nm chips before you get degradation. So I'm wondering if I should run seti@home in the background capped at like 25% cpu usage. It will drop the core voltage to about 1.37 even at 25% and when I'm about to need full power I can just pause it. Only downside is you'd never be idle, but on the upside you'd be helping a seti team.

    I'd rather WCG against cancer...

Oh wait, I already do.. and CPU degradation be damned...
