Well after a few days playing this game and even reading reviews about it, I'm not sore at all about the recommended specs.
The game looks gorgeous, some may disagree but think about how hard it is to hit the 'floating in space' experience nail on the head, I think Futuremark certainly did that. Especially light and dark, the sun is really harsh when full on and shadows are very very dark, coupled with the right sfx, I really love the atmosphere the game offers. I know it might sound weird but I sort of feel at home floating above the earth near an ISS, hec is almost even given me vertigo... incredible.
sure the specs may be high, and this might sound like pr speak, but it does make me proud to be a PC gamer, and happy to an extent that consoles don't and wont get this game, everything about it, the idea, the 6 degrees of freedom, its all novel, and it works really well. It's awesome to have a game where no compromises have had to be made for the PC release because of corresponding console releases.
I'm not even saying everything I want to say, but the whole thing is a real treat to play and be a part of, and you can't really argue with the price either IMO. 20$ US is what, 2 tickets to the cinema? I have gotten way more enjoyment out of this game than the last 2 times I went to the movies.
I hope everyone is enjoying it as much as me, that's my 2 cents.
