So, remember when EA officially said that SimCity couldn't be played offline because a significant amount of the simulation calculation load was offloaded to their servers, and it would take a huge amount of engineering to make the game run offline? If not, you can read it here.
So now it turns out that was complete bullshat. Some coders revealed that by simply commenting out a single line of code in the source code of the game, they could play the game offline indefinitely without any problem at all. Oops...
