sli setup qustion sli seems slower then single even 3dmark says so

what did i do rong i know ther pile cards but thats y i got them to see how sli works for real

i got 2 7300gt for 35 bucks each so not a waste of money good back up cards if any thing

an im not getting good results

i have tryed a few ways with win xp an vista

both give me same ishew saying i need 2 slots over 4x wich they ar ther both running 8x

if tryed osing stock chip set drivers an the newest ones
same with the video cards try new an old drivers same prob

sli does seam to enable as i can get the green sli bar but its allways slower with 2 cards am i missing sumthin windows is set to force split frame rendering

hmm do 7300 gt even support sli? Did you link the SLI connector between the two cards and did you install drivers for "BOTH" cards?

afr or afr2 is usually the best sli mode for performance

i did try alternate frame rendering but i seam to get the same marks the cards do sli just runs slowern then a single in every programusen 3dmark or other benches i did read a few things the other day saying its more woth wile to get one big card then have 2 shit ones an i agrea

but still mine 2 cards should get some kinda speed boost outa sli evin if marginul

my chip set is nforce4 sli
1gig of ram
an the same power suply i got to run my 8800gts 640 so im shure it can power 2 7300.s
an i did plug in the sli power thing on my board

the green sli indacator does show an seam to work proper but frames ar still cut in half in some games

EDIT:...upon re examination there are no jumers on the EXPERT/VENUS series mobo's...also no extra power for SLI either, unlike the ultra-d and SLI-DR's.

Bios option on the EXPERT for SLI don't make a bit of difference either. Still works as well on auto as in disabled mode.

Sounds to me like a failed GPU. my 7600's had shown the same thing when my second card went dead. Test them individually, hopefully this isn't the issue.

the one with the 2 7300.s is a asus a8n-sli premium[both pritty much same chip set thow]

there is a bios thing for 16x or 8x an 8x i got it set for 8x an 8x
like i was saying sli does enable an seams to work its just half the speed of usen one of the 7300.s

i looked on the asus dident see any jumpers to do with sli
only thing i can rilly think of is the cards ar difernt thanks to tigerdirect both same company pny both ddr2 256mb 7300gt.s

but one has the sli conector an one dosent an card layout is slightly difernt but the cores an ram ar the same an run the same speed

so that could be it but i was told the 7300.s dont need the sli conector [evin says they dont on nvidias web page an sli does enable so im think maby cus the cards ar slightly difernt maby ther not talking to echuther properly
