I was pulling close to 50k / day on WCG points.

How scary is this new B1 Stepping.

I'll probably do more tests, right now im trying to keep this voltage under 1.4vcore if possible for a bit longer.

Nice numbers.....if I have to request you to do a test so we folders can gauge how fast this beast is, I would say do an SMP client using a VMWare image and fold the -bigadv work unit just to see what the TPF (Time per Frame) is. You can find all the details about it HERE

Super PI only checks 1 core.

Wprime is a multi threaded version of superPI.

Still playing with the cpu, but lately its been really hot in LA, and my Chiller is down at the moment. :T

I dont want to touch 1.45V+ without it being below ambient.

Me neither, however I know that Gulftown is very fast in SP, even more then Bloomfield. SP isn't any good as a real world benchmark anymore, but its fun. I want to see Aqua Mark 3 performance please, i'm yet to see any of that.

if you look at the max temp of the first chip, it's no wonder why it died.

core temp could not read the temps properly

So its reflecting numbers away from Tjmax.

So the numbers u see subtract from 105.

If you guys are wondering.. RealTemp GT was made by uncleweb, who i helped debug on that gulftown.

If it wasnt for that gulftown, realtemp GT would probably have been majorly delayed..

I couldnt tell you for sure.
I think my sensors is bugged, because sometimes it reports values below ambient.

Ive seen them on air, and there fairly cool, however the key to overclocking these guys is your PSU and power regulators.
They can draw a TON of amps when overclocked.
If your PSU and Board is not of best quality, i can see things going very wrong.

And intel has changed the stock cooler on these guys to a tower form sink.

Thats much cooler to look at than the stock coolers we are used to see! I bet they should perform better too. I see a lot of copper, how much will these chips cost?

per lot 1k / $999 USD.

However after etailer markup... i expect from 1200-1600. :\

You can however get one of the cheaper Xeons if you must have hexcore.

The L5640 shouldnt be too bad... but it wont get far on a 17x multi. :X

The X5600 series are gonna be a pocket breaker, the W3680 should be more expensive then X980.
