I am in need of a descent air cooler for my spare rig.

Dont need anything real fancy, just a quality gently used cooler is all I require. I am running a stock E6400 cooler, and temps are a bit warm for 3.3GHz....looking to bring it down a notch.

Im looking maybe $30 shipped tops on what I wan to spend. PM me with anything you guys may have to fit the void.:toast:

    Thanks for looking,peet

Looks to me alot like the cooler provided as stock that I'm using now.

Its performance is OK, but I plan to Oc still, hence the need for a new cooler.

Have you ever volted the CPU and monitored temps?

mobo==crap so no overvolting but its a nutburst chip thats rated @ 95w which should be pretty close to what your cpu is running @ oc'd what volts does it need @ 1.4v that would put you @ 126w which is pretty close to the 108w @ 3.4ghz i got out of the PD and it sat @ 55C load

This CPU is a hog...her E2200 needs 1.5 to break 3.3GHz. to run well at anything over 3.15 it needs pretty good voltage TBH, but on the stocker at 3.4 the core went to almost 70*C:eek: So I quickly changed that and I am now on the hunt for something cooler!

Its rated a little worse than the CNPS9500 I have , but I need to get a "kit" for it to make it work with 775 from 939. So Im looking for a bit better for around twice what I need to invest to get my 9500 on it.

I have a lapped C2D heatsink with a vatec tornado heatsink Superglued on top for $15 shipped. It took my stock cooler from 52C idle to 35C on a Quad until I installed my water. But it isn't a quiet fan. Just ask Solaris.

Its mounted very well though(its centered). It looks like its supposed to be on top of the heatsink because its just the right size. I could take a picture. It loks pretty good and works excellent but the drawback is the noise. My apartment is 75F BTW, so you know ambient.

Yes and its lapped but not quite mirror finish. ;)

I have extras of the vantec tornado NIB, if you would rather mount it on your own C2D heatsink $12 shipped. It would reach you in two to three days. Usually 2 days since I ship at the GSO international airport.

I think I will pass, thanks tho....I would believe the Infinity has a better chance with say a 88CFM yate loon on it.

so thats one set of mounting clips, the usual. you can buy more mounting clips or make your own so that you can fit up to 4 fans on the infinity.
