So I am contemplating upgrading my sound card, from the on-board realtek of my 990FX Sabertooth.
I am considering the ASUS Xonar DSX 7.1.
I am trying to find out if the cost is worth it. I was hoping for better sound quality and a tad more volume from my headphones (Sony MDR-V6). I am also running analog 5.1 from the on-board realtek (onkyo TX-SR500, two Sony SB-3000 with Center, satellite JBL, and klipsh Synergy 12), which I will continue to use with the new sound card, via analog not digital.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, especially in reference to linux support if their are any owners out there. Thanks for any thought/feedback.
