EMU 1212M is an excellent value card. Though I don't think it either fits in DDL or EAX. It's more towards authoring.

Think I'll just try out the X-fi Xtreme and see if I like it...regardless it should be better than my Turtle beach riviera right? you say that it will do some processing on its own even if it may not process the entire thing? the barracuda looks amazing if I got one that would probably be it...none of the auzentechs on newegg have a F/O port...not really sure if I could find a buyer for my xtreme if I did decide to upgrade to a card twice its price.

I bought the Asus Xonar D2X Ultra Fidelity 7.1 PCI-Express card in the end
now hopefully it will play nice with my "M-Audio Delta 1010 soundcard's" (I have 2 in one machine) ... I have that one setup to work with my audio programs, and hopefully the Xonar to work for my games... we'll see

youre not giong to believe this... I still havent received my order and just got another generic email saying that there are delays and they do not know when I may get my order... (remember I ordered next day delivery on monday!!!)

Honestly, there's no performance/features difference between the PCI and PCI-E variants of Xonar. You can change your order to Xonar PCI, if you can.
