I've got an older board I'm looking at replaceing some of the leaking caps on. I dug out a board that was very dead, and has been miss treated in every sence of the way to practice on befor tackling the caps on a working board. Just for fun, after removing all the caps and resoldering them back on several times each, I added a stick of memory, and hhd. suprisingly the board booted. :twitch: I can get into bios, but it does not find the hdd. Could this be a sure thing the southbridge is junk? Keeping in mind this mobo has been very baddly treated, but looks physicaly fine, are there any other things to look at being wrong?
