What features are unavailable offline?

From what I'm gathering in this thread, the game is not open ended?

all of the sections are different types of game, individualy they all suck but apparently if you do them all it can be kinds fun

its like rock band its a shit game on its own if you just play the guitar

guitar < guitar hero on your own
mic < sing star on your own
drums < not very good on your own
combo them with friends its kinda fun

this will be good if a community builds up but for me i need to get some new games right now and this isnt on the top of the list

i have a 360 and pc so its hard juggling purcahses

the game is more fun if you start form the start ans see your creature evolve, as far as i know the features that are online based are the upload and download of content.... so in other words i can create a race of penis people and you can have your carrot people and we both upload our races online and then those races get downloaded by other people so they can go vist another planet in there single player game and find your carrot people running around and while there my my penis people attack there home world

so its kind of like an indirect for of multiplayer

the same is for the creature creator if you create a few creatures then go play your game when it loads you see the races you may encounter and in that list can be the creature created

(btw i havent tryed online yet (i think the servers start up in a few days) so i dont know if this is 100% true)

Looking at the tip of the tail on the bitie in Triprifts screenshot, I think Will Wright has already started on the penis thing.

But yeah I guess it will be about DLC from the community.

each time you evolve (i think i did it aprox 10 times) you can start your creature from scratch so its possible to go from carrot man to penis man in one evolution (given you have enough DNA points to spend)

also in the early stages you can call a mate and re-do your creature at any time, this is also the same with land vehicles and aircraft later in the game

this helps bigtime as if you stuff up a creature you can easly re-do it again

The only thing there arent there when your not online, is other peoples creatures you arent missing any of the gameplay, but there just arent that many different monsters. But you can just make alot of creatures yourself, and voila! then you got loads of different monsters.

Thats also alot less content Think about it - There are more than 1 million creatures in the sporepedia, thats created by other people. When your offline, you never see any of those - your only gonna meet around 100+ different creatures, made by Maxis. So thats alot less content

yeah at the moment it seems the online features are broken anyway, most of europe cant connect even if they own the game legit.

yeah i've done the space age about three times now... keep getting crashes, and its always when i dont save for a few minutes.

when you get to space stage, trust me.... save a lot. you lose a lot of time if you crash out.

Like game crashes? Or ingame ufo crashes? I havent had a single game crash, except just when i installed it.. I accidently installed it over my creature creator :s It didnt like that But ive ben playing the game for like.. 15 hours or so, no crashes here

game crashes. it only happens when zooming out of a planet, the display flickers pretty wildly, and then the game eventually crashes (i cant do anything once hte display starts flickering)

lol thats where i got it, and im just glad it only took 3 hours or id consider it a huge waste of time
