Why not a fresh OS install? It'll serve you better I'd say, nothing beats a fresh install!

Congrats on the free stuff though :toast:

I'm the opposite. I'd try cloning on what HDDs I have now rather than experimenting with it on a new SSD. Ya know, kind of like learning how to crawl before walking :) But yea, SSDs are awesome, VERY awesome.

Agreed. You should definitely fresh install it and optimize the new install for the SSD. There is a killer guide @ OCN with detailed instructions on how to prepare, install, and optimize a fresh Windows install on a SSD. I would check it out.

Once you have the new install done and tweaked, use Windows Backup and make an image of the drive to save on a mechanical HDD or external drive. If anything ever messes up you simply restore that image and you have a perfect starting point again (great time saver!).

Not sure if this is it/similar to it but this is a great guide I've followed.

followed the guide :D and I installed the 1600mhz ram this morning and got it running @ speed no problems.

I really like the speed of Windows on a SSD. Everything installs in like 3 seconds and shutdown/startup is lightning quick.

You should see how fast OS X boots on a 13" Macbook Air. There is almost no reason to put the machine to sleep. :p I just got one of the new IVB ones from work. They fly. Not to mention Apple finally started putting USB 3.0 on their machines.

I like Apple, but not if I were the one paying for them. :)
