So I came across 2 240gb PNY optima ssd's NIB for an awesome price. I installed them into my system ( < see specs minus the ssd's atm). My question is my Bios sees both drives and are set for AHCI not raid nor ide. I install my OS - this time Win7 Pro. My question is why does the OS only see one ssd? Should I change the AHCI to ide? If so, is there any performance hit if any? I want to use one ssd for OS and the other one for the 2 or 3 games that I play regularly. SO far I am impressed with boot up speed and overall performance of the one drive. Thanks in advance

Right click on my computer and click on 'manage' that should bring up another window - what you want to do is click on the 'storage' option in the middle column (they are separated into 3 columns)

and from then on there should be a message pop up telling you that it discovered a drive that hasnt been initialised yet before asking if it should initialise it - the obvious answer is yes.

Initialising the SSD should automatically format it, so its a case of waiting a minute or two for it to get that out of the way before you can use it.
