    SSD vs HDD

So would getting a cheap 70-90$ SSD be worth it? What would be best to put on one, the OS or games? What exactly would be faster with one? Or should I sell my Seagate 250gb 7200.10 8mb and get a 500gb 7200.12 16mb?

I would have to say no. A good SSD costs a lot more than that and it really be better to get 2 of them for RAID 0 performance. I wouldnt waste $$ on the crappy ones and wait for price to come down.

The drive you have now if actually quite good, even though its only 8MB cache not 16. Mine 320GB 7200.10 16MB cache with perpendicular recording firmware 3.AAE still rocks. The firmware version is important in Segate drives, BTW. I dont know much about the newer 7200.12 but IMHO a good choice would be a WD SE16 320 or 640, Samsumg F1 or a pair of Velociraptors in RAID.

Does SSD Raid-0 combine the GB's? Like would two 120GB's in Raid-0 be 240gb or 120gb like a HDD raid?

Yes it does combine but you know if you fail one the whole data is lost.
About SSD I don`t like the rumors about SSD with time loosing speed. If a pay that much money I expect them to last. And do I like the price to come down of those SSD drives. Those regular drives are big bottleneck for todays PCs. Compare 50-70 mb/s to 250 mb/s to 5 times faster.
