I just purchased a 2nd Samsung 840 Series 250Gb drive; paid $169 USD for the first one "on sale" (this one for $159 w/ "Promo" code): Storage Spotlight: Solid Deals on Our Top-Selling ...
Now my question: If a Samsung 840 (non "PRO" version) cost $499 for the 500Gb of the same model and I just got two 250Gb for (the collective value of $328.00 USD >give or take) what is the better value?
Why spend almost $500 for the 500Gb model when I can buy two of these run them raid 0 and basically get the capacity and w/ RAID 0 likely faster speeds: why would anyone spend the extra $$$ for the single 500Gb drive?
