You got Sneeky good in that video, lol.
We should get another L4D group together, it was a ton of fun with just the TPU guys and the TS server.

I'm really hoping that as broad of a game as SC is, our ragtag group will be able to come together and actually help each other, run missions together, etc. I think, depending on how robust the in-game voice comms are, we may want to set up a TS/Vent server for SC.

If this game is polished in BETA and if this group remains commited to it when it goes retail then I will purchase it in BETA. But what has happened in the past is that the actual game does not live up to the hype and people complain and eventually bail only a few months into the launch. Then we end up getting ass blasted by teenagers and college kids who have all the time in the world to destroy us.

I agree. But let's say doomsday "scenario-ists" that say this game will fail hard just shortly after launch are right(which I just don't see happening), there is still a 50 mission campaign created by Chris Roberts....

Hell, I'll play it.

There's quite a bit of support behind this whole endeavor. And according to the number of citizens, quite a few people who are eager to try what they have been able to create.

With it being based on CryEngine, I expect that IF it fell flat, Chris would find some way to get modding tools to the community, allowing for the people that WANTED to play, to make the game their way.

But I really don't see it being that bad.

We've hit the $39 million mark. The letter from the chairman has some nice images of the UEE destroyer to browse through.

The $41 million stretch goal is a big one:

Star Citizen isn’t just about the game we launch with. We’re going into this building not only an immersive launch experience, but the platforms and the tools to let us keep expanding the game to meet the available technology. The game won’t be a static experience: we want to build Star Citizen in a way that the experience will be fresh in five years, ten years and into the foreseeable future.

Among the most common feature requests for Star Citizen are atmospheric combat and ground exploration. These are the single biggest things we would like to include in the game, but they’re also something we know we can’t have day one. Our universe is a big place, and creating the hundreds of existing landouts properly is enough of a challenge… building entire continents and atmospheres in the current system would take a lifetime.

That’s where procedural generation comes in. If we can develop a truly great procedural generation system, one that lets us create entire planets for you to populate, then we can expand the game to add these features (and more) in the future.

Procedural Generation R&D Team – This stretch goal will allocate funding for Cloud Imperium to develop procedural generation technology for future iterations of Star Citizen. Advanced procedural generation will be necessary for creating entire planets worth of exploration and development content. A special strike team of procedural generation-oriented developers will be assembled to make this technology a reality.

Yes it was. It's not too difficult. It just requires the CryEngine SDK here: http://www.crydev.net/dm_eds/download_detail.php?id=4 Then you just drag and drop the assets from the hangar module into it. The editor is pretty nice, you just drag stuff in... Though with that pic I went into the textures and changed them.

I just finished this one using the editor:

I had way too much cloud particle effects going though. Kept crashing my display drivers lol.

No hard points for missiles this is a starter ship, Auroras competition. This one is speed and agility and lite cargo.

The only thing that could ruin this for me is a monthly pay to play online...

CR mentioned in one of the 10 for the Chairman episodes and in several forum posts that he's against the idea of microtransactions. He didn't outright say they wouldn't be there (he used his "it's definitely something we're looking into" line), but that he is opposed to the idea.
