Anyone else here in it? I'm at least hopefully optimistic this will be a decent effort.

Yes it sounds like hit and miss on the application process. I sent the thing back and within like 2 min it was in my Origin menu.

Damn! a day late. I never got any email about this and I subscribed to the Battlefront news letter. I have buying EA games since my C64 days, damn you EA. Lightning strikes in the background followed by loud claps of thunder.

Edit: Yay! I just logged into Origin and behold!

I am not in it and not interested. When it comes to demos, betas, free trials and more I will not put time into those anymore as I have a huge back log of games to get through. I finally over the past year have been gaming more and getting through stuff so no I have no time for a beta. Oh wait uh yes I have time for a beta but they would have to pay me. I hope one day this becomes a reality just like how you can do surveys for money right now on the net.

Seriously. What a good way to shoot yourself in the foot. My interest in the going went from very high to meh when I heard that.

Closed demo is more like it, DICE can fuck right off with the rest of EA.
IIRC the CTE for BF4 is still ongoing and has yet to fix all of the issues.

I dont know what you want from them. BF4 in its current state is perfectly fine. And the fact they are still pushing updates and releasing free dlc is nice. No complaints

According to EA, “Now that we have officially announced the beta, most of you are just itching to know how you can get in. Well, we’re excited to say that the beta is open to everyone!”

Apparently so! This game brings back memories, definitely something I will keep a close eye on if it turns out to be decent.

The only hope this game has for me is that they made 2142, and I want a new 2142 bad.... The first battlefield game I've not bought was the last one that robs banks.. and I was on the verge of buy it, until @TheMailMan78 smacked some truth into me and said, "Screw EA! Now suck it up buttercup! They never fixed BF4..". So, given TMM you're all knowing on Battlefield and Fallout games and your profit was true. Where do we stand on this one buddy? I'm itching to buy this now!... I've got cold sweats and chills looking at the add to cart button in Origins!

This is just a BF4 reskin with a hook into our childhood. In the end its Star Wars without space battles. Let that sink in. Star Wars without space battles. Just pew pew on a closed map.

Ill probably get this one eventually just because its Star Wars and its part of my childhood. Not because its going to be an epic game. Could be wrong but nothing I have seen impresses me and DICE is known for over blowing multiplayer videos......and so far they are dull looking.

Here is 45 minutes of gameplay on their "best" map.

Go to 15:20 minutes in to see the real fail.

When they announced no space battles everyone collectively gave them the middle finger. I will make a wager though... space battles will come as a $40 DLC.

Its just a reskin with a heavy pull on our heart strings. I love Star Wars. Seeing "The Empire Srikes Back" with my parents was/is probably one of my only positive memories as a child. I wanted/want this game to be epic. However the jaded adult in me just keeps looking at the evidence. Its gonna sell. People are going to love it. Just because of the theme. Not because of the game sadly. I'm not giving DICE 100+ bucks to destroy a childhood memory.

When they announced no space battles everyone collectively gave them the middle finger. I will make a wager though... space battles will come as a $40 DLC.
Oh I wont take that bet. I am positive they will have "space battles" for a fee.

Yea, this whole 100+ bucks to play a half ass game is getting out of hand. Hopefully, I'll have a Vive around the time this game is out and I won't care. I've been playing Star wars: Battle of Endor and Tatooine on my Oculus Rift and it's amazing. I think this will fall short to those VR experiences... lol
