    StarDrive on Steam

Anybody heard of this? I just bought this game and tried the beta and it's freaking awesome! anyone of you who has played and loved either Master of Orion, GalCiv, Sword of the Stars, Sins, or Distant Worlds would definitely like this, it's like a combination of all those games!, while is it still in beta it is already better than most 4x games that i've played, and its only $25 on Steam. sale is over, so $30 for some reason they put it again on sales... $25 again :wtf:

The official release date is April 27, but you can download the beta(current version) now and play it if you pre-order.. believe it or not.. only one guy is developing it and he puts patches like everyday! he is very active and approachable in the official forums, asking feature suggestions and attending to bug reports almost everyday.

If you're a big 4x fan this is a must buy

The pictures impressed me, especially for being an indie title. They did some remarkable work.

I'm not too big on the genre so I'll probably pass. Still good to see the indie movement growing.

    Only one guys? Wow.

I wonder how it plays on hd3000? It recommends an nvidea 8800. I am stuck on my laptop right now...

I am interested but I have so many games to play as is.

He is outsourcing the Art and Music, but as far as the game itself, only one guy.

You mean integrated intel graphics? I don't think it will work.
it says on the steam page

I bought this a bit over a month ago and coming from someone who plays Master of Orion 2 for days on end every few months, I can say that Stardrive has replaced MoO2 for me. [I consider MoO2 to be my game of the century, two centuries running!]

It's a great game and it's only getting better as time roles on, though my only dislike with it is the sheer mass fleets the AI use/you're forced to use in response.

Bought it havent had a chance to play it yet tho.. Crusaders comment worries me, looks like a game that would excel with small fleets and not massive numbers.

Should be moddable to make that happen, just increase ships costs, but havent gotten to poke around yet.

Big Civ and Master of Orion fan, so definitely have to give it a try :)

Anyone willing to gift this to me? My Steam account has no payment access (press account). I'll return the cost to you via Paypal.

If it was only turn based... I have a hard time with real-time games. :(

I wouldn't really say its anything like Sins and at the same time it kinda is.

I like Sins but I'm not liking StarDrive. Not saying its bad but just can't get into it.
Its like saying Arma 3 and Battlefield 3 are the same game or Company of Heroes is the same as Men of War.
They are the same genre of games but play differently.

Sins is more of a RTS game while Stardrive is more in depth 4X game.
I like how Stardrive is more in depth but I feel like at the same time its just not all there.
I'll give it another go once its out.

Its a hybrid turn based and rts, research, resources, and productions are determined by "turns", which is every five second of game time.

you can pause it as much as you like, and you can control the speed, from 0.5x 1x 2x 3x to 100x as long as your pc can handle it.

Well seeing as it's an Indie dev I will pick it up when it comes out. I like to help indie devs when I can.
