How well would portal run on a mobile X1600 @ 1680x1050?
quite well. very low requirements.
Hmmm, I think I'm gonna put this on Mrs' iMac.
Mac OS X Portal performance - not that good: http://www.anandtech.com/show/3726/quick-look-mac-os-x-portal-performance
Then a mac zealot comes out of nowhere and says computers are not for playing, if you want to play buy a console
(this happened to me before, seriously)
lower FPS (halved!) and far worse image quality.
the comments there are pure comedy gold too.
Oh, some pc vs mac slaughterhouse. Lovely
You're a bit slow. Steam has been on Mac for about a month now. I know because I haven't been able to sign into Steam for a month.
no... its only a few days old. your problem is your own.
Okay, but it's been in beta for a while now and the day it went into beta Steam stopped working for me, and several of my friends on Steam. Stupid Macs ruining Steam. I can't play DiRT2 anymore...
Also it now updates every 3-4 hours now. Worse then WoW.
you need to reinstall steam, yours is obviously corrupt. no one i know is having those issues.
One thing to try first, make sure steam and all folders/files within it are not set to read-only. I've read about that being an issue.
I managed to get it to sign in and it worked for like 10 minutes before it crashed again and refused to sign back in. It's not corrupt because several of my mates can't get on either.
Steam works fine here.
And the Mac client releasing has nothing to do with your steam problems. A hell of a lot more people would be having issues if it was related to the Mac release.
