Only issues i have had was steam guard. I have NEVER had steam crash on me since i started using it in 2004.

I was once like you my friend (I think many people have had the same thoughts). However, I have come to see the light and now realize just how great Steam is.

it just works, i only had an issue when I changed hard drives. and it was me to blame. I remember when in Usenet there were anti steam campaigns, there are some questionable aspects, like its near monopoly, etc. but it works. my god it works too good! hahaha

A virus is easly transported VIA thumb drives and portable HDD's

You could have one and not know it sometimes. I used AVG Free on my gaming rig and have had zero issues

    *EDIT*

WTH you changed the poll AFTER I voted. Reset the poll and let everyone vote again

Try to solve the problem instead of bitching about it. I prefer retail games with boxes and stuff but it has it points.

And that site there is just horrible and have no purpose.

Ive been using steam since i was forced to when cs1.6 came out and the phased out the WON network or whatever.
The first few years it was rough now a days its one of the most stable things around if you have an issue record some details and head to the steam forums if its a bug someone else has it or contact steam support im sure they will help you.

Never had a problem with steam myself. And the one time my account got hacked they quickly returned it to me no problem.

March 2008, a good way to review software is to judge it by a 3 year old article.

Personally any issue I have had with Steam has been resolved very fast. And it has saved me a ton of money, so I am extremely happy with it.

My first account with steam was hacked on my first deployment to iraq. By the time I got back and had steam support recover it, It had already been VAC banned :(

My extremely low 6 digit is no longer playable in HL1 games but I still can play source games :)
