Switching from 3870 to 4870

My 4870 arrived yesterday. Just want to know, which driver should go for? 8.6 or something else?

Also, do I need to re-install the operating system?

Just clean out the old drivers, install newest drivers available. No need to reinstall the the OS.

+1 on Paulieg. As for the drivers, I'd use 8.6 since they seem to have the better driver for you.

No it is not, various users have tried crossfiring the 3k and 4k series cards, does not work in XP or Vista.

Just switched over today. Now using a 4870 with the 8.6 drivers. Just uninstalled the older ones, shut down, swapped the card, and booted up and installed drivers :)
