bin playing with one of those watt meter things..

my system.. see specs.. this is just the box..

126 watts total.. at idle or say browsing.. speedstep off..

180 watts total.. with the cpu under load..

240/270 watts total.. while gaming or running 3dmark 2006..

295 watts total.. running the furbench thing..

that fur bench really cooks things.. he he

speedstep dosnt work on my machine but an E6750 at 3.6 gig normal and 8600gts grafix card with speedstep on draws around 100 watts sat in windows.. about 115 watts with speedstep off..

just for interest the 3.6 gig E6750 machine with the 8600gts card draws about 220 watts total while gaming..

I heard somewhere that system voltage peaks on "power on", even higher than when gaming. Is that true?

no but possibly.. he he he.. things do seem to draw full-ish power at boot up.. some games draw less than expected.. supreme commander for example draws less than expected only about 220 watts out of my system..

mine draws around 240 watts while booting.. the furbench thing being the surprize.. it draws the most.. its a cooker..
