Somewhere around $500, most of that value is in the CPU and GPUs. The drives, RAM, and mobo only make up about $150 of that quote.

Well, if you're looking to upgrade, sure. But that system should already be fairly blistering fast.

You're asking this question in a forum where a good majority can build their own system, so of course the price offer isn't going to be all that high. It will be reasonable for the most part.

On the other hand, I sold my Pentium 4, liquid cooled Sony Desktop for over $900 on ebay. The same price I paid for it 3+ years ago. And I didn't include the 5.1 Logitech Speakers that came with it. LOL

Man, do they retain their value or what.

^ that would be ur best bet. Parting out will for the most part give you more $ then selling it as a complete system.

Yeah I was thinking part-out as well. Complete systems just take a long time to sell if they sell at all (on tech forums). Yours is nice but most people want to do their own thing. I don't know if you go over to [H] but they sell and buy a LOT more volume than here. I had good luck selling off some 'niche' hardware over there.

If you would back your system for a year then I would say $800 easy for a nice gaming rig like you have....To TPU techies then probably $500ish...Normal non techies easy $800!

I'd agree with this. I'd throw the rig up on your local craigslist. I'd bet that someone local would give you at least $700 for it.

You might get £200 or so for it, only two high value items are the GPU and the PSU.

Rest is a bit dated : [

Aye its a nice set up, all the parts other then 5770 can be picked up second hand for fairly cheap and its still able to play modern games which are very playable frame rates :toast:

PM me I'll let you know what sort of prices to expect to pay for each part or similar parts if you like : ]

Now don't get me wrong, Intel has gotten a lot better with their on-die graphics processing unit, but they are still weak as hell compared to real GPUs. You can get a decent gaming laptop with something like GTX260 mobile for that much.

I don't think you need a laptop for college. That is a misconception. Unless you are real die hard about taking notes on your lappy in class, you can do your work on your current rig, in your room with no issue. Save yourself some time and effect involved in selling your rig to get something 1/4 as powerful.

If you are not going to PC game, then sure. Lappy takes up less space, less power, and can be moved to where you need it. If you are going to game on it and you don't have a console, keep your rig man.

$575. Added a little extra for the custom built case that you can't buy.

Gotcha. I would also consider other Laptops. That one spends most of the funds on the i5. You can get a good dual core system and beef up your GPU, screen size, etc. for the same price range.

good luck hooah!! I would suggest not going to the national gaurd. go reserves or airforce. in the long run, you wont like being in a combat based MOS. Plus you wont get any work experance there either.

sign up to be a 25B for a good computer field
