Tapatalk support for TPU?

i'd have to agree with this, us staff would have to enforce the ENGLISH rule, as opposed to gibberenglish.

Hence the need for qwerty phones. I see myself having a hard time sending an in depth post with a normal keypad, it'd be a chore. I tried once, hell 10 or more people posted what I wanted to say, in the end, the post was for nothing.

Yes of course if installed, W1zzard will modify the plugin. On our side a "plugin" is just a code. So that "Sent from <insert phone model> using Tapatalk" message won't be there.

Maybe we can replace "Sent from <insert phone model> using Tapatalk" to "*" just so we'll know who's using Tapatalk, and if there are enough posts with crappy text-message English, bye bye Tapatalk.

thats a good idea, just an icon for a mobile phone as a default 'signature' when posting via mobile.

There is a free version of this app on the android market as well as the Paid Pro version ,so everyone could use if their mobile device is supported

i discussed this with someone earlier, and a few points came up for a mobile version of TPU.


1. we need control of images/avatars, to toggle them on/off. pretty much a 'text only' version would be great.

2. some restrictions would be needed - EG, mobile users cant make new threads (odds are it would be terrible english, no attached images, etc etc)

3. for w1zz to really like it, have ads appear once every 10 minutes that you have to click to get past. when you load a new page an ad appears, you can click to view it or click to bypass it. i'm sure wizzy could find people who want to advertise to the mobile market.

because ads are what keep TPU running, and with no ads on a mobile version, TPU cant keep going.

im pretty sure TPU is doing just fine we dont need ads for mobile tpu

If there's a way to monitor the usage of the plugin then just do a trial run. If it's only accounting for half a percent of posts and views then the ad issue shouldn't be significant.

We don't need mobile ads. Most people won't want to try to do heavy posting from their phone. The posting from the phone is when you are trying to post from some boring economics class, or waiting at the bus station or whatever. Most will use computer to do posting. Seriously, would you want to type a message this long on a phone?

i support this. browsing the site on a mobile browser is easy but trying to type a response into a box 4 times bigger then your screen is a pain in the ass so if this makes it easier bring it on

its cause most people dont know what the hell tapatalk is, change the title to "Tpu on cross platform mobile forum app" ...or something like that and see what happens
