Yeah or if they wanted they could join, but could not vote on their own case.
I have been bugging CPU mag for quite a while now to spread prizes around (they offer $1500 and a cover shot to the winner but nothing to 2nd, 3rd and so on)
There is no way $1500 would even come close begin to cover the costs of a top mod.
My thought is to encourage "NEW" ideas (not so much who can stuff $20K of hardware into a case) So spreading the prizes around to encourage new ideas would be most beneficial.
It would be nice to see "Useful" mod classes as well,
Least fans (passive)
Coolest running air cooled
Coolest looking H20 setup
Best use of lighting
remember the contest should be designed to include/encourage as many as possible (more the merrier) and judged by experts in many fields that are not shills for the industry.
(I understand the need for the industry to make money but so far they have hurt themselves by failing to see the big picture, ideas/improvements to case design can only help us all (not just their bottom line) not to mention increase the amount of modders)
There is always gonna be someone thats not happy when there is a contest, the best way is to make them as simple as possible.
you are absolutely right MK. other classes could be:
lowest mod cost (while mantaining a good modding level ofc)
best hand skills
What about best improvement?
Ya'll could count me in on that stuff. I might be lazy when it comes to my own projects, but man do I like to compete
Bad thing about that would be that the majority of this forum are american, but theres still some mod talent from here in the UK - maybe a world wide mod - off?
i gree in the end its a bit of fun for everyone there should be serious entrys like best passive cooled case
best use of lighting etc but some fun and waky ones for the less proffessional people who are in it for a laugh like 'needing the biggest balls to go for it award' or suminc get what a mean? thanks for your support on this guys
right weve got judges sorted, if they agree to it, nest i think we should agree on classes, weve had a few ideas floating but set some to be set in stone, errrm there deffo needs to be pro and ameture classes and some serious and some waky i think to suit everyone, less arguments
You know what would be awesome? If we were all gathered together and were given (Or capped at) 150 dollars (Or another number) to work on a new case mod and we had to stay for a week or two. We'd have to show our receipts at the end of the competition so no one could use extra money to win. XD. it would be awesome with teams.
yeah! i'm from Italy and i'm in too! (ATCS840 project coming soon )
an im from the uk haha
There are "HUGE" modding skills in Europe (as well as the rest of the world) Everyone should be included.
so who's the guys we have to pitch this idea too when we get all the ideas to gether?
Separate names with a comma.
