Temps Opinions?

So in the image below you will see a screen shot of what I am currently at in my first ever overclocking attempt. I am using the MSI OCGenie on the Mobo to do the overclocking.

Prime 95 has been working for about 3 minutes and I was wondering if my temps would get much higher? All of my PC hardware is to the left.

You look safe now, but that should go up, also hard to tell exactly since that is seemingly only showing the temp for the first core and not them all.

130W Cpu even overclocked with an H50 only as cooling ...that looks a bit to cool to be honest....even i´am hitting 45-50C on a 100w cpu with a Dual 240 Rad loop....

I think the temps can still go beyond that, give at least 10min run on prime.

yea 3mins! it doesnt get hot till after 20mins or so.

thats the core temp, HWINFO64 will give you another temp that will probably be 10*c higher than core (socket).

i find as its finishing the first pass 620k. temps climb by 5-10*c then drop back a bit.

looking at those temps i think youll be on the limits soon as everything warms up and heat soaks in!

Thank you all for the replies.

Now one thing I am worried about, and please don't hate on this. The cooler I am using the H50 has been on without a thermal paste change in over two years, could this effect temps dramatically? Basically since the installation.

Also, does anyone of y'all know if these Hex cores OC pretty well? Are they stable, and do they last?

Yes it can effect cooling performance...since it is two years old you may apply a new coat of thermal past.

They do OC pretty well you get a lot more Performance out of them if you do so, however the higher the Voltage you put on to get it stable at a certain clock speed the fast your CPU is degenerating a higher wear level which means they will die faster.

Phenom hexas and quads usual max overclock around 4-4.2ghz unless you got a lucky chip. A fresh coat of TIM will most likely lower your temps a bit
