Am I the only one that actually likes hearing the fan on my graphics card kick up to full speed? I love sitting at my desk reading/typing things on the internet and hearing the fan jump from 75% to 100% and go from completely silent to sounding like a fan should sound.*

I love the fan on my GTX260 and most graphics cards because it sounds so destinctive when at full speed, I can hear it over every other fan in my system. But it seems that I am stuck in a world where everyone wants quiet. I'm just not that way, I think a computer should sound like a computer. Maybe it is from my years of working in server rooms where the computers are so loud you have to yell to be heard. I don't know...

*It only does this because I fold on it which puts it under load even when I am just browsing the interent. I also have it set to that if it goes over 65°C the fan goes to 100% because I like cool graphics cards, and obviously don't care about noise.

Probably, I prefer my fans to shut up.

Then again I have so many fans, it gets extremely noisy very fast. Why can't they just send fanmail which I can throw away without reading?

Well, it is only 8:45AM and I have already had my fill of laughing for the day. Thanks Dan. BTW, I spit coffee all over my desk I was laughing so hard, you owe me one new keyboard. ;)

My 8800 GT with its reference fan at 100% sounds like a dentist's drill. Unpleasant. Sadly I could never listen to what my GTX 260's fan sounds like at 100% (it doesn't work) and I'm waiting for a HR-03 GTX...so it will sound like yet another case-fan.

I have one of those rollable keyboards, they are also coffee proof. Probably cheapest to ship as well.

I love not being able to hear my fans blowing, Although my old amd stock cooler sounded awesome when playing supreme commander, during a large battle it would end up about 6k rpm and wake people up.

If you lived with a Delta EFB1312VHE fan, then you really never care about how LOUD it is.. As for the like of it. I do like how my 280 sounds going from stock fan speed to 100%... It's a lot better sounding then the 4870's!!!

I like quiet fans. but I like it when I'm still able to hear them. The monotone buzzing sound of the fans at night are hypnotising. I wake up if the comp shuts itself down and the fans stop spinning.
Howerver, when I'm watching a movie, I hate the fans. That's why I ordered some silent ones for the media build.

I used to wake up if my computer shut down in the middle of the night too. But now I have to turn it off before bed because the noise and light keeps the girlfriend up.

Women. They always have to change us:laugh: But light is a good point. I'm used to a blueish illuminated room, but I don't think anyone else would be.

I must admit, I enjoy the sound of my PC starting up and then settling down to a quiet hum which is then drowned out by Kyuss, the Melvins (or whatever song I play once I reach my desktop).

If you like the fan sound, you would love my X1650Xt. That thing spins up and sounds like a jet taking off.

my whole system is loud... my 4870 reference at 60% is a jet engine... and at 100% I feel like my case is slowly inching itself off the desk. My CPU cooler is loud when i crank it up to 5500 RPM...

I just can't get away from it :banghead: Though at this point, I have almost gotten used to it. Almost

I'm a quiet freak, but like a little horsepower when needed.
    Fan controllers are a Godsend!:rockout:

Currently the loudest fan in my pc is the Zalman VF-900 on my gfx card, and that's with it turned down. Can't wait for my Scythe Musashi to arrive.
