I thought Duke Nukem was using a heavily modified Unreal engine? At least in their "Jobs" section on their website it says they are looking for designers using a heavily modified Unreal engine.

Graphics don't mean anything if it doesn't have gameplay to go with it

I dunno about that. I suck at gameplay but I love eye candy. I'd buy it.

Is there a release date I missed?

sounds good, but doesn't any big game make use of similar technologies ?

will have to wait for the gameplay

Looks promising but way too early, could just be advertising as "next graphical juggernaut."

Some of us like myself are just casual gamers and a better looking game is what we are looking for. Whats the point of having a great gaming rig when its "dressed up with nowhere to go". This "Type 3" game presents itself as somewhere to go, so I am interested.

If you notice some of the screenshots show the terrain in the console in the upper left is rendered by a 9800GTX or 9800gtx+ which isn't that bad.

Erm, you'll have to elaborate on how being a casual gamer, -taken from the context of your words- means that you are less interested in gameplay?

Gameplay doesn't have to mean some in-depth and long twisting storyline that lasts for sixty hours; that would be "Story."

I can think of at least twenty-five games that have such good "gameplay" yet are well over several years old now. I can think of one hundred modern games that look much better, and are absolutley so boring, I'd rather it was some slideshow or cinematic trailer I could watch for five minutes, then be done with it.

I don't see anything in this article that's impressive. It's still all old run of the mill photo imaging slapped onto 3d textures and the parallexing doesn't look anything 'next-gen.'

I know being hopeful is a crime, but I see potential in the things I have dug up around the net about this game. You really can't talk about this game's gameplay yet because its in development unless you work on the dev team for it.

Its always easier to attack something than confront it with an open mind. I usually choose the open minded approach, since life is more enjoyable to me that way.

PS. A casual gamer sometimes imbodies a less critical nature of the games he or she enjoys. I try not to pass judgement on something unless I have tried it. I give things a chance to prove themselves.

There are many other areas of rating a games worth but I do not feel the need to name out everything that go into judging a game in every post I make about one. Certainly you understand.

you know what im starting to hate? kids games, Red Alert 3 came out looking like it was meant for a 10 year old to play it, all the nice roads not damaged at all, and all the nice lightning. As opposed to CNC 3, which looked fu&#$& sick (yeah I love that game)

Right now this game looks phenomenal, and I am yet to see a game in a sci-fi environment like the one they are making, if you can walk around as the citizen of c17-B3-city, (sort of like gta4) that would be cool, but its gotta add more than just walking around (like in gta4), its gotta be extra cool, and extra real
