Well lads!
I've been playing the game for the past three hours. I must say, I'm not dissapointed xD It's brilliant!!!
I was fearing that the combat was going to be poor like Oblivion but it has been improved pretty decently!

Graphics are pretty good too, my frame rates seem to go from 60 to 35 suddenly?!?! Not sure what that's about! Everything is on high too, no ultra and AA is only 2x!
Not impressed by it's overall performance.

What are your thoughts so far???

Will be playing it in about an hour depending on whether I get beers or not.
It wasn't a smooth install, due to steam.
But thats the kind of luck I have with steam.

Cool man.

Ah this game is fantastic!!!!!!!! three hours of pure delight so it was!!
Seriously really impressed by this!!

Performance on the other hand is a bit funky at times! Graphics are grand but BF3 runs better than this game!!

Combat is rather quite good too! Was fearing it would be just the same as Oblivion but it has improved a little bit which is decent enough xD

Enjoy the game when yee get it lads!!

Yeah I am not surprised; there is no specific driver support yet like we had with BF3 going back to the alpha even. Crossfire and SLI don't even work yet as far as I can determine.

Less than 2 hours!

Ugh, I'm soo tired and I have to go out in this cold to a Gamestop by the highway where there are wolves. Ok, maybe there are no wolves.

:laugh::laugh: There ya go Rocker, fixed it for ya:p

Very sweet game, i'm at 1920x1080 on ultra, and it runs sweet. I did check on task manager and it is using all 4 cores.

Very nice game and i am looking forward to spending a lot of hours with her and getting to know her intimately.

Yay it says PLAY!

Steam version is unlocked people!

They say it tends to crash when the sound card is on 192khz/24bit.

Mine is. how do I change that setting?

just got back from gamestop, installing now. got the canvas map for pre-ordering. wasn't expecting it so it's a nice bonus :)

playing in: 10 minutes :)

Change the setting in control panel or whatever software they provide, if needed download the newest drivers with software. Make it 16bit, 24bit is a gimmick anyway.

I usually don't mind if a game uses Steam but this sucks. I wanted to install my game on my SSD which Steam isn't installed on. At the GameStop I went to they were giving PC customers Lego Universe and the big strategy guide for it for free. I don't think the map is canvas. Seems to be textured paper to me.

there's an app floating around that moves steam games, but all you really need to know is mklink , with that cmd you can make a hard link that makes even windows see that folder as being located on your ssd, meaning it doesn't increase latency to use.

Steam Mover is the app.

Some ini tweaks for quality:

Liking it so far; was hoping for more awesome opening music that really grabbed me tho like Morrowind and Oblivion had. Minor, to be sure, but still. Other than that it's def a TES game and I'm still in the cave.

I'm in the cave,

did you figure out the code for the door with the three circular rings?

anyone seen a benchmark mode? any self-moving scenes that could be used to benchmark?

First 5-10 minutes after character creation is exhilarating. Can't wait for AMD to release the Crossfire profiles.

im gonna come out and say it...THE UI SUCKS ASS!!!! WTF where they thinking, its like they didn't even play the damn thing :shadedshu

Yes the first 10min or so of the game pretty much moves itself, but it does give you the option of looking around at people.

Hey for the choice of who you follow on the first quest, does that lock you into faction choice? I guess I followed the rebels and helped them without realizing id be stuck.

Some VERY poor planning on my part with a new build. Skyrim will be here from Amazon this evening, and I'm still missing parts for my new gaming build. I'm guessing if I try playing it on the one of the family rigs, with a lowly 250 gts, I'm going to be REALLY disappointed. UGH

ES:IV had a one button click to move to a point indicated? If this had the same you could use an area devoid of npc's and let it walk to the given point from a given point?

Chances are the game was built from the ground up to be played using a console controller...
