    There's been talk on steam forums about PC having a similar problem to the PS3 in regards to large save files (not the folder).

    While PS3 file size caused system lag, PC with whats considered a large save file size of around 18mb will start to encounter repeated crashes at specific locations and slowly more locations will have the same problem.

    Hopefully Bethesda fixes this problem in the next patch along with the quest bugs this month.

    If I was to use the Fxaa injector by some_dude, am I supposed to keep the msaa on and turn the in-game fxaa off?

    It's in Skyrim Nexus anyway. "Full Item Guide" under "Utilities", you have to register there (if you haven't yet).

    The FXAA Post Process Injector by some_dude is really great.

    I had to play around with the sliders quite a bit, and I still am not finished since I would like a bit less of a contrast.

    But I'll never go back to the vanilla game now - it looks so washed out in comparison!

    Here's comparison screenshots, though I had to convert them from png to jpg because of size so some image quality might be lost:

    (The images are not spoilers, they're in tags so as not to be annoying ;))

    You play in 3rd person (there's no way you can see weapon shadows on yourself in 1st person), and you're noticing lack of AA of shadows cast by your weapon on your own character? :wtf: :confused:

    You shadows are pixelatted? Thats how everyones are unless you increase the ishadowresolution to 8196. Doing this though may have a hit to performance. I can't have mine at 8196 or my FPS is in the teens. Its because the shadows are ran on the CPU because Blethesda still hasn't gotten rid of that old ass code and made dynamic shadows that are ran on the GPU like they should.

    How can you look at the shadow cast on your person by your weapon while the weapon is drawn? Automatically as soon as my character draws her weapon in 3rd person, she turns around and I see only her back - the shadow of the weapon would be at the front... :rolleyes:

    It would surely depend where the light source is ;)

    I find setting shadows to 4096 and changing iblurdeferedshadowmask* to 32 works best for cleaning up shadows.

    *May of spelt that wrong lol

    its at 3 by default

    I have Primary shadows at 8196, but secondary at 4096. Ifi set the ishadowmapres to 8196 as well my FPS tanks. IM assuming thats the shadows that your guy directly casts.

    dude specifically said shadows ON his character, no amount of rearranging light sources would show a shadow from something in front of you, behind you. at least, not if it's right.

    That's what I meant to say.

    I can't go in 3rd person and get a front view of my character while my weapon is drawn.
    I can't have a weapon held in front of me throw a shadow on my backside.... And I'm wondering what de.das.dude meant really...
    Perhaps there's a method and I'm missing it?

    _____

    Regards shadows, I use 4096 resolution. They're quite OK, to be honest I never tried 8192.

    fInteriorShadowDistance=2000.0000
    fShadowDistance=2000.0000
    iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096
    iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
    iShadowMapResolution=4096

    The first 2 help a lot in removing the flicker/strobe effect of shadows.

    I didn't check this thread for like 4 days and theres another 25 pages.

    I'm having a crossfire issue. with crossfire enabled, when I go to the esc. menu, the background starts flashing green. Otherwise everything else seems to be good. its quite annoying. Has anybody else had or fixed this?

    Edit: with crossfire disabled everything is perfect.
