From the sounds of things the current 1.4 BETA is a win for most people out there.

Bah, I've nearly stopped leveling up....I'd have to start doing magic again to gain a huge load of points.
I've only got a few points left to go on speech, and the rest is coming from unnatural alchemy, ie, I buy every single ingredient and then make a bunch of stuff only to help level.

    L40 in 80hrs, but I'm only L56 after 140+hrs.

I'm using a legendary elevn battleaxe, but I mainly use my bow, as I play lonewolf and can't afford to let them crowd me.

Yeah the patch did totally screw up my NPC interactions at first. They would respond to choices I made with further dialog but would not follow any of my instructions nor would quests update. And, like, asking to see what a shopkeep had for sale resulted in nothing happening, for example. Luckily, going back to the 1.3 exe and launcher then patching again later rectified it. Thank Talos!

I haven't made a daedric armor set this time round.
Most expensive set I have is Ebony but there is one piece of the Ebony armor set I have which is impossible to make.

Got a Breton to about 18th and decided I'm unhappy with the "build".
Now I have CRS (Character Restart Syndrome) and can't settle on what I want.

Lovin' this game. Sure it has some problems, but as was stated in the PCGamer review concernin g it's open world scope and sandbox playstyle ... "Bethesda put a freakin' country in a box"

Ok. Here is my experience with the Beta 1.4 patch. This is about performance and has nothing related to bug fixes.

    11.11 Drivers
    Skyrim before beta patch: 2 44.657 64
    Skyrim after Beta patch: 12 31.767 63
    12.1 Drivers
    Skyrim after Beta patch: 17 55.648 64

Clearly an improvement has it removed the slight stutter I had during some transitions, but it also clear it is design to work with the latest CCC version 12.1 as there is a average performance lose for the 11.11 drivers.

Edit: Please note I have no mods, but I did tweak the settings to beyond Ultra (which is what the game itself is set to). I increased the render distance, increases the texture map size, and other .ini tweaks to increase graphical fidelity.

Yeah, its Serious HD. I had Vurts Flora but this had less of a performance loss.

Heres my mods. Theres a few more I need.

Skyrim wars is totally worth it. If you don't want important people to get killed by random trolls and such, get rainbow mode.

uhh the Vurts Flora is a mod for trees, ferns, etc. Not the actual ground landscape textures.

Vurts Flora Overhaul + Lush Trees = WIN

Lol, you're right. The last time I tried that mod was before I had crossfire, now that I think of it. Well, it looks like I'll be having prettier trees now.
