Ill wait til they are cheaper. It's not like I am very close to the ending of the vanilla game anyway.

Hmm that's quite expensive for a DLC I might say...

I also amended my post, from the updates I receive on FB I thought it was available, and not "coming this summer"...

I'll most probably end up buying the DLC for that price IF it is anything like The Shivering Isles.

I see we have what appear to be frost ogres from what I see in the trailer.

I dont know why ppl are complaining about the price, Bethesda is moving away from $5-10 DLCs and move back toward expansions,

aka think of the $20 DLC as being somewhere between $10 DLC pack and $30 Expansion

aka good examples being Morrowind with Tribunal + Bloodmoon,
with that game you had the base game and 2 expansions
Oblivion had Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles aka 2 expansions
Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas went with multiple DLC packs aka shorter but more plentiful,

For Skyrim Bethesda is moving away from multiple DLC packs and consolidating
From what i remember theirs gonna be i think 3 DLC expansions for Skyrim,

    http://kotaku.com/5885983/bethesda-skyrim-dlc-will-feel-more-like-expansion-packs

"With Fallout 3, it was, 'Ten dollars is the sweet spot for us and we know we want to put out five of them. And we had overlapping teams. We were coming off Fallout 3 and right back in." He describes that development cycle as "a real hardcore loop," but adds, "we just think we can do better content if we approach it a different way."

"Because that gap is going to be bigger, we want to put litle things out for free in between. We've already done that for PC with the high-res pack. We're trying to figure out what those things are."

essentially from what im gathering Skyrim will have 3 DLC packs

Morrowind + Tribunal + Bloodmoon total if bought at launch was $90
Oblivion + Knights of the Nine + Shivering Isles if you bought everything when it launched costed around $100

    Fallout 3 was $100

    Skyrim + Dawnguard + unkown + unknown = $60 + 20 + 20 +20 = $120

considering inflation it costs the same now for Skyrim and all DLC as it did Oblivion and all of its DLC or Morrowind for that matter.

Ill pay the price as it will be more similar to Morrowind and Oblivion in terms of content, then Fallout series which tend to be short linear content.

Dawngaurd looks interesting. 1.6 beta patch adds mounted combat.

So on top of most likely 3 expansions,

    we have gotten for free,

High res texture pack- yes its not THAT great but it does improve on everything so whatever mods dont touch are still improved.

Mounted Combat which everyone has wanted since Oblivion

and we get 3 expansions slightly smaller then Shivering Isles for $20 a pop x 3

so for the $120 total cost it looks like Skyrim is giving us more content then any of Bethesda's previous titles except Morrowind. that was still their most ambitious game to date.

Think of it as an expansion instead of DLC. DLC is crap like horse armor
    Beat me to it

Hmm, i wanted something to do with Aldmeri Dominion. Say, rebellion and war against them. Special bonus if you play as High Elf. Will see when this gets to PC, should be fun anyway.

Speaking of the much-maligned and laughed-at horse armor such is actually needed now more than ever with the mounted combat ability.

They better fix the camera and controls for when on horse-back, or combat will be horrific.

Using first person mod helps a little, but the horse still moves poorly.

The new vampires looked like they came straight out of the Underworld movies. Specifically one of the twin imortals who became the father of the vampire line in that series.

Just did a quick googling and my suspicions were correct. Looks like they based the vampire or vampires off of Marcus Corvinus from the second Underworld movie.

could you advise me a good way to create different sets of robes / magic (or armor / weapons) to be recalled quickly if necessary?

:nutkick: F*** You, Bethesda. This is the only sore point I had with them when this was released: the threat of early or exclusive DLC to Xbox.

Hey guys, been out of the loop for like 5 months now. Would like to know if there has been improvements in skyrim (graphical engine improvements)...

did they improve the GPU and CPU "optimization" ? Last time I played I was using "skyboost" which had a significant impact on the game FPS and overall performance. Has anything come out I should be aware of? (aside from game patch or DLC)

the game has its own equivalent to skyboost now, and the official texture pack helped a lot. also its LAA now.

so this probably means, the game is still quite CPU dependent, right?

Yeah but not as bad as it was.

I get smooth frame rates at 4ghz instead of 4.5ghz now .

(55-60 fps most of the time, all towns and cities stay above 30fps)
