No forced settings in the CCC aa or af wise, I have these -

and these are my in game settings -

Runs great but like I said, I have turned shadows down to high and have capped the framerate to 40fps with DXtory, runs very smooth even running around the world into new areas.

oh, you think 40FPS is smooth. that'd be why then.

Considering a 5870 performs almost if not the same as a 6950, I am running mine on high settings with 4xAA and getting a solid 60 cap with minor dips. I've found a few tweaks online that may help you.

Download this file and then just paste it into your main skyrim folder, I've uploaded this file myself and scanned it for viruses just for anyone's peace of mind, anyhow this file is said to improve both Single-GPU and Crossfire configurations and yes I've experience quite a huge boost using this file.

    File Link: http://www.mediafire.com/?uw5n5e992wf8qj5

Another solution to try is use RadeonPro and then change the AA profile to Bioshock (Not the Multi-GPU). And for anyone running crossfire, I recommend disregarding all workarounds online to improve the performance as I've found disabling one card to give the biggest performance boost. In regards to the settings I am using I chose "High" Preset for everything and then changed to 4xAA, FXAA off and 16xAnisotropic as using anything similar to the ultra settings gives low dips in awkward places eg. when overlooking a town etc.

For certain games and engines, no. For this particular one - butter smooth! And I can tell you I am very fussy when it comes to framerates, this one runs perfect. I normally hate anywhere within the 30 to 50fps range but in this game it works and plays fine as it only deviates from 35-40fps and there is no evidence of visual frameloss/stutter. I'm also using my 360 controller which perhaps negates the input lag caused with lower frameage.

Anybody think this game is fallout-ish? That's not a bad thing. They took a proven formula and made it better

Please use a spoiler tag even for seemingly benign things like this with places and any quest info...

And yeah I ran into the pick up book bug after rebinding to mouse. I had to switch back to E temp to take a book and not just read it.

Bummer though not the end of the world as you have a PC version too, right? RIGHT? :)

Curious for some more details. There are obviously tons of 360 players.

Ah that's too bad but that is a chunk of coin. Wait for a sale for PC and by then there will be great (and thoroughly tested) mods too.

i'll probably pick up the GOTY edition with all the DLC for PC next year like I did for Dragon Age. I am not into modding.

I've only player a few hrs, but the atmosphere is really immersive, I love how the game is fully 3D Vision enabled out of the box, the vistas are breathtaking, even though the character animation system is still a little quirky, but I've been spoiled by BF3's character animation.

I feel the world is more carefully crafted than Oblivion's and I love how cities are now open, and load times are almost nil, enhancing the sense of immersion, the soundtrack is moving and the transition from one theme to another is almost seamless as far as I've seen, making you feel the BGM has composed as one never ending piece of symphonic rapture.

I also like how quests are more organic and don't interfere with the flow of your experience.

The game is not without its faults, but nothing I would consider to be a deal breaker, I was also surprised by the changes to the UI and some control issues mentioned before like the counterintuitive inverted mouse buttons (same as with Oblivion) but that's the way it was with Oblivion when I played it after playing Morrowind, and I think the changes are beneficial in the long run.

Many times I've been talking with an NPC only to watch him dissapear and appear sitting on a chair behind me, the character animation is a little quirky but is far cry from Oblivion's or Fallout's android like animation, but these are just minor things that don't break the game. The game is super stable out of the box, unlike Oblivion on release with its infamous constant CTDs, but that may change once I start user created content.

And that's just another plus, I can hardly wait for moders to start pouring their creations, to me that's what made Oblivion such an engrossing experience, and I am salivating at the prospect of enhancing Skyrim's experience even more :)

Me too.. Just don't piss off the mastadons. When I see a couple of them being sheparded by giants I run far far away.

Actually, I find Fallout 3 to be Oblivion-ish. At its core, it's the same basic engine.

There some alt tab fix around I think. Google it.

Heh me too. I hit a giants cow with an arrow and dude killed me with one swoop (I went flying waaaay up into the air too during death animation it was a riot).

Who here is running 11.10 on a 6000 series card? I no longer have Mipmap slider in my drivers; just Cat AI. I think deprecated but not sure. Obviously others still have it based on all the screenies in this thread and BP claims it made a difference on her system.
