Did you accidentally steal something or hurt someone?

Sounds like you've committed a game in the white run area, I would really recommend starting a new game other wise you will never see a single dragon. ( Except the one right at the start)

And subsequently won't be able to do any quests involving dragons.

I have that just didn't work. I even got rid of some extra files, it just always says verification 100% completed.

So I managed to save my game with an old backup but now can't get the latest patch :(

I broke into a house. And spent the night in jail. and then I broke into another house and stole a ton of gold. and Bribed the guard. And then I killed a guard. and then I visited the Jarl. Maybe thats my problem. :banghead: I guess I'll start over with another one. I want to see dragons. :ohwell:

    Yeah, there's your problem

Play the game like your actually there for best effect :toast:

I.E If you're going to be a thief, be stealthy as hell about it, blatant theifs get caught out in real life too

By the by, as most of the towns folk go about their business in the day, that's the best time to steal as often they leave their houses open.

Always save before stealing though as sometimes people realise even though no one has seen you.

Personally I don't bother with stealing ( cept grave robbing that's fair game ) the loot you get legitimately is pretty damn good anyway.

If you really want something that someone has in their house when they are there you can always put a bucket on their head as well, blocking their vision means they don't know you stole it  ( When I started I robbed a shop keeper blind ( literally in this case) and then sold his own stuff back to him)

I was in the dungeon fooling around early in the game, and unless I'm just miserable at my aim, I think they patched that in the zero day, since I couldn't get a bucket to stay on ANYone's head. They just flew off to the opposite corner of the room...

How Does one go about putting buckets on peoples heads?

Edit: When this was happening, it was the first night. I didn't know you could sleep until morning when it was light, I was just wandering around breaking into houses and getting tons of gold. It didn't matter in riverwood, there were no guards. But they don't take kindly to breaking and entering in dragonsreach.

When first we practice to Break-and-enter, what a tangled web we Sinter. :shadedshu

You "pick up" the bucket, by hitting the E key and holding it, then moving it where you want it. Can do with almost any item (including bodies, like in Obliv after the Bodies mod), and shift it around. I use it when I stack up too many bodies in a pile to sort. Drag one, loot the next, drag one, loot the next :) You can't move items that are too much larger than you, or maybe it's a strength thing.

When I move stuff/bodies about I do this

I like to imagine that NPCs react to the odd placement of people I've slaughtered

Of course they don't but the thought still makes me laugh.

Remember, the radiant story system they bragged about and how anyone could be killed without affecting the quests.

don't worry about it, its annoying, but if people try and talk to you when you enter your house, it can drag them in with you, people aren't wandering your house when your away tho.

I did this in Oblivion, I wiped out every town.

Kind of ruined the game for me

Normally I'd be outside, and some guy would be following (he'd be a friendly guy) and follow me inside.

They do, at least in my case. I get caves and places marked as "cleared" but when I revisit them there'd be all the bandits there. I wouldn't complain though, more bandits, more necromancers, more killings and more gold . . . mwahhaahhaha :D

Oh and I also found a treasure map. And it actually led me to real treasure. That was good :) Since mine was marked IV and later I got another one marked VI then there are plenty more to explore. . cool
