Making games is becoming more expensive to produce and people are willing to spend more money on them, that's why prices are increasing. If we weren't willing to pay the prices, the developers would have to make them cheaper, but I can't see that happening. Here in the UK prices are even worse because of our taxes. $60 for an Xbox 360 game would be about £30 which would be a bargain.

I personally like to buy games when they are newish, so I tend to get them when prices are still high. Admittedly most of my games are on PC so they are much cheaper, but I'm getting a Wii for Xmas so if I want some games to play I have to pay full prices atm, admittedly I could've waited to get the console.

How old are $20 games in Texas? A £10 here would be about 2-3 years old brand new in most cases (for consoles anyway). :shadedshu

I aquire games naughtily, if theyre good I'll buy them. For PC at least.

With consoles it's a little more difficult, especially nowadays with the concept of patching console games, I feel it's making console dev's a little lazier.

PS2 games ought to get a lot cheaper now that people will move to PS3 instead. By the end of the year they'll probably only be half the price, although the range won't be as good.

I have only paid new price for a few games, I made a friend buy BF1942 and MOH for me as I built his compy, but NFSU was too much to pass up and so was GTA:SA. I even waited for CivIII to drop in price before I bought it.

I am however almost done with all my games so I will be buying more shortly. Perhaps CIVIIII and COD2 or BF2.

Well the Wii isn't quite as bad as that but the PS3 games will probably cost the same. $100 for a game :shadedshu

Anyway, my PC will always be my no.1 gaming platform and the games for that are sometimes only £18 when they are released (like pro evo 6) and the worst ones are only £25. Thats about $36-$50 which isn't so bad.
