The asteroid hangar is built with their brand new room system, so you will start with the bare minimum and be able to expand it outwards with more rooms and such. Other hangars were mentioned as scheduled for converting to the room system this month, but there was no indication on when they'd be finished. No doubt that those who do not have Drake ships will be able to pay for a permanent upgrade to the asteroid hangar when it is released, but I think I'll stick with the deluxe for now - I don't want my ships getting dirty in that filthy asteroid! :p

As for when it is released they only had "a couple of bugs" to fix for it to be complete, so I wouldn't be surprised to see it released before the others are converted to the room system. Hopefully we will all get a temp upgrade like we did when they had the TNGS ships in the hangar...

Gladius goes on sale tomorrow for $80 bucks. Since I have a 350R, I'm trading the 325A in for one.

The "limo" Constellation is nice, but I'm more excited to see the redone basic version.

    that's a connie? omfg
I was thinking it was the 890 jump when I saw it in the video.
    wow

they need to give the option of trading in LTI ships for LTI ships...
otherwise it defeats the purpose of LTI if you're going to lose it before the game even launches lol

You can with the cross-chassis upgrade, only that will only work once the ship(s) are in Arena Commander. So currently you can only upgrade between the Aurora, 300 series and Hornet.

So to fully understand this, not that i haven't googled about Star Citizen, but you good fella's have invested good sums of money...for ships in-game? I thought they had all the money they need anyways? I'm just surprised how much...faith? everyone has.

I pledged the set amount I planned to. To back the game to hopefully get made. Yeah, with the amount of money they've raised, it's getting made for sure. You can even play a portion of it now. As far as new ships go, I basically trade in something I already have to get a new ship if I want it. Not sure if it's a matter of faith, it's not like I couldn't comprehend if this would fail or something to go horribly wrong.

In the end, it was a project that I wanted to see come to fruition, so I backed it. Wing Commander is what got me into PC gaming.

Thinking exactly the same. I'll wait for the Gladius to be in AC so I can do a cross-chassis upgrade from my 325A to it (I was thinking of trading my 325A for another ship to move the LTI over as I have a 350R anyways). As for the constellation I'm really hoping for an explorer variant, else I'll kick myself for skipping the freelancer DUR for the MIS.

I've only spent what money I can afford to lose, and I have rewarded CIG for making the right noises and showing us enough information to get further backing. Yes the game is fully funded, and yes me buying more things now won't make the game any more of a sure thing but I'm sending a message with my extra spend - I like what they are doing. (Insert Joker meme "It's not about the money - it's about sending a message" here). Hopefully the rest of the industry takes note of their success and change their ways to be more open and honest towards their customers.

I've always been hesitant to buy a ship..can't say I'm not interested. I have the Aurora something or another...original backer, think I am in this title $45-ish. I am also in Elite: Dangerous too (AWESOME beta too). Between this, Elite and Evhochron: Mercenary (the one I play most still)...my Space Sim needs are content.

I can't say I've really looked into the SC ships...seems semi-tempting...if it makes a huge difference then it seems like it's pushing the P2W boundary..which I hope SC never becomes that...and doesn't seem like it will. So far it has been pretty fun, but my ship is kinda slow...and the overall speed in both Elite and SC is very slow compared to my built-up ship in Evochron. But the action in SC is very pleasing to the action I want to see and enjoy...feels almost like I'm living a Battlestar Galactica battle at times.

I've been playing Elite, but I'm getting a bit bored with it. Just don't feel like grinding for the next ship, but I'm definitely getting back on it on the 29th with the Beta. We just haven't really seen much with Star Citizen yet. I've actually, finally gotten into a few good rounds of multiplayer Arena Commander and when it worked well, it was pretty darn awesome. There's just soooo much more that needs to get done yet. The next big reveal (FPS/ground/social) module, I think will be shown next at Gamescom in Germany, next month.

I've always loved spaceships, so I get pretty excited when I see a new one. The main thing I want to see the the game universe, but that's a long ways off.

I'm trying to find more time to play all of them. But I have an itch to equal out my donation to SC like I did Elite.

I'm debating getting another ship or upgrading? So I'm game for some suggestions.

I want to be able to do combat, trading and maybe some bounty hunting. I have the Aurora MR currently.

I was thinking about getting the Aurora LN for $35, it seems more fitting to what I want to do within this game. The 300i is about $20 more expensive. I really can't spend more than about $50 on this. So suggestions welcome! Maybe I should stick with the MR? I want something a little more combat oriented though.

Stick with the MR. You should be able to make some good credits in game with it and buy a 300i or whatever you want.

I pledged to elite a long time ago. lol
I only got the game not the beta. I have been debating on whether or not I should purchase the lifetime expansion add on.

Do any of you have that lifetime expansion thing?

I do for Elite. I have huge hopes for that game in the direction it's going...which to me seems to be more of how Evochron is (which I love!.. worth the $30 over and over again imho). Elite has made some good ground moving foward and is appearing to be a little more in depth in a few aspects compared to SC...but then again SC is going to the next level in almost all areas so I think both fill their respective niches in the Space Sim category quite nicely. I hope Vice can keep Evochron moving forward, imho it's still the best flight mechanics.

I will say Elite beta is pretty fun to fly around in, a bigger beta release is coming on the 29th.

I need to follow up more with SC...gotta say I put it down after a few runs in AC. It's fun and all..but just hasn't captured me full on yet...but I keep coming back to it. I haven't settled on a favorite between Elite and SC either.

Avast has had ALL RSI/CIG tagged as "suspicious files." Avast is one of the suites I have used and before even opening the SC launcher, I have to turn off the web shield or it asks me three or four times whether I would like to abort or complete the connection. I am not the only one who has dealt with this issue, either, but it does seem isolated to Avast. Because this is currently in Alpha stages, it makes sense that many programs may flag it as a false positive.
You can call it a "possible" false positive if you like, but it is indeed a false positive. Above all else, it makes no sense for CIG to give us a virus, as the only people who have access to the software right now are alpha backers who have already invested money.
And no, this is not new. Maybe for you it is, but there have been threads on the RSI forums before.
Avast will get their shi...stuff sorted eventually. Until then, just play Arena Commander and be glad you have alpha access. And maybe look into getting a different anti-virus suite...:toast:

The Origin M50 will be in hangars through a small patch tomorrow! Yay!

I wonder if there will be any variants or sale to coincide with the release?

    **edit**

apparently it will be on sale for a week, but no variants for a little while. New store will be launching on 4th August (Monday) as well but no mention if that'll bring any new things to buy...
