Well, after the GOTY thread, we need a POS thread, right?

    Well, *I* think so... ;)

This thread isn't so much about how absolutely bad a game is, but rather how much you were disappointed by it.

    I'll start:

    1. Brink
    2. Homefront

    That's about it for me...

    KieranD says thanks.

Brink: i really liked the concept, the world, but when it came out it had lame graphics, lame gameplay, and defective fire crackers as grenades.

RAGE: 5 years for this?, really 5 F****** years and a new engine for this?, buggiest game i played in a long time and they blame PC because their crappy code worked like S***, The Witcher 2 worked quite well since day 1 in my PC, the same for Hardreset, and those studios are not Id they are quite small in comparison. My vote goes for RAGE, so much time and hype for a crappy game.

    Duke Nukem Forever.

F.E.A.R 3, X-Men Destiny were more disappointing than bad.

Rage, the only game ever, and I have been gaming for 20 years, that I beat on hard then went right back and played it again....

Needless to say I liked it quite alot.
I bought Rage and MW3 at the same time and never even put MW3 on till I had beat rage twice.
I really like the COD MW series as well, well over 50 days play in COD 4 , 20 days in MW2, and rage kept me away from it...

Fail for me was Uncharted, I loved 1 and 2 high hopes for 3, I have owned it since release and not finished it yet...its just ....something off about it, cant pin point it.

DNF for sure. Years of hype for jack shit. As for F.E.A.R 3, it was going to suck anyway. It's based on the same Lithtech engine as the second one, which is watered down for consoles. The first one and it's expansions were the absolute stuff.

I thought homefront was pretty weak too actually, and i found the chapter where u had to go thru a farm shooting american citizens a most disturbing attempt at propaganda,
mw and bf i found both a bit same old same old and flawed in many ways too.

    Duke Nukem Forever.

Brink i didn't find bad at all, but i found Splash Damage's support well lack of it terrible what doomed the game sadly.

I'm a little behind, slowely been picking away at the first series, about 2/3 through Perseus... no plans to move on to the sequels from all I've read, your post included!

Everyone a little focused on the most recent failures?

Crysis 2, Duke Nukem Forever, Brink, Bulldozer, X79 express, SOPA, and so many other littler failures. Given that the list has to be about turds, and I'll stick to the realm of gaming, here are my top 3.

    1) SOPA. Anyone who believes that this does not influence gaming is a fool. Stripping DRM from a legally purchased game will become an offence. I don't see what logic, beyond slush funding, is behind the US government even seriously considering this.

    2) Bulldozer performance. Bulldozer was meant to be gaming bliss. "Eight" cores, a new architecture, and a price that would make console gaming the butt of the joke. Unfortunately, Bulldozer became the joke...

    3) Crysis 2. Many a game deserves to be be considered here. The reason Crysis 2 wins the boobie prize is simple, EA made a PC gaming company create a flawed and sub-par console port. Say what you will about Duke, but he delivered what was promised. Crude humor, glorious stupidity, and level design cribbed from the late 90's. Crysis promised more and failed to deliver; it cut back on promises days before launch, lacked promised features, and released with enough game destroying bugs to be an affront to intelligence. Brink was just a mediocre release with broken gameplay. It was bad, but not worth all the hate it got.

I forgot about Crysis 2. I did play the demo for that and was very underwhelmed.

Otherwise, I haven't played a single 2011 game that I was really disappointed with. That's primarily because I didn't play many of the big blockbuster games, except Portal 2, Skyrim, and the Crysis 2 demo.
